1. An object, quality, or event whose presence or occurrence indicates the probable presence or occurrence of something else. 2. A gesture or action used to convey information or an instruction.
Example: A sign in favour of road safety.

Noun
A large outdoor board for displaying advertisement.
Example: The frontage of the house was almost entirely hidden by a huge billboard with « DRIVE SAFELY » written in an awful front/typeface.

The facade of a building.
Example: To give them an idea of the sign’s impact, they were shown a picture of a pretty house whose frontage was almost entirely hidden by a huge billboard.

A lawn is an area of grass that is kept cut short and is usually part of someone's garden or backyard, or part of a park.

A strategy is the action plan that takes you where you want to go.
Example: The strategy consisting of beginning by a little request in order to pave the way to further requests is well known as the foot-in-the-door technique.

Noun
A typeface is the design of lettering that can include variations in size, weight (e.g. bold), slope (e.g. italic), width (e.g. condensed), and so on.
Example: The words were written in an awful typeface.
